“Education is the foundation of a better society,” said Dr. Gary Ng, Director of CAST Laboratories (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.

On Sunday 6 March 2022, staff from the Board of Engineers Cambodia Laboratory (BECL); a collaboration between the Board of Engineers Cambodia and CAST Laboratories (Cambodia) Co., Ltd traveled to Kratie to distribute schooling necessities to 352 students from three schools, namely Chamreuon Primary School, Chrob Primary School, and Trapeang Skour Primary School.

    Representatives from BECL, Tai Sin Group of Companies, and GWAS with various donations to the children and schools.

To support continuing education, each child received two sets of uniforms, a set of school bag, stationery, footwear, and educational books. Each school also received educational teaching materials and puzzles to promote and enhance learning. Plans are also on the way to renovate and upgrade the schools’ facilities.

Generous donations were raised by the Tai Sin Group of Companies including Tai Sin Electric Singapore, Lim Kim Hai Electric Co, and CAST Laboratories Singapore. Supporting organisations such as the Graduate Women’s Association Singapore (GWAS), Neng Bo Concrete Admixture and many families and friends also poured in donations to support this meaningful initiative.

At the end of the event, every child and teacher were treated to a sumptuous lunch organized by BECL.

In line with its commitment to address the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals through its work and corporate social responsibility projects, the Aid for Students in Cambodia is one of the many initiatives that demonstrate the Board of Engineers Cambodia Laboratory’s commitment towards Cambodia’s sustainable development.
